On Thursday evening, there was some good news for Gers fans.
Rangers Reserves striker, Andy Dallas, signed a contract extension with the club.
The deal was announced by the Youth Academy Twitter account, although its length has not yet been clarified.
It’s a vote of confidence in the teenager, after his goals propelled Graeme Murty’s side to the top of the SPFL Reserve League during the first half of the season.
His stand out performance to date, was scoring a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Kilmarnock back in November.
Since then, he notched a brace in a 4-2 away win for the U20s against Rapid Vienna, and scored on the road at Hearts.
Those displays earned him a spot on the first team bench on two occasions last month.
However, unfortunately, he didn’t take the field against either Hamilton or Hibernian.

With Jermain Defoe’s arrival, he may be unlikely to get another opportunity this season.
A loan spell might still be on the cards, though.
Or, failing that, the Reserves have a league to win.
This young man is one of a host of home grown attacking talents at Ibrox.

In signing an extension, he joins Ryan Hardie and Zak Rudden in committing his future to the club.
Even though this has been a busy transfer window, it’s good to see there is value being placed in the club’s best young prospects.
