Speaking after the match, B team manager David McCallum praised the young Gers for an emphatic performance to send themselves top of the standings.
“It was a fantastic performance,” said McCallum [Rangers].
“We spoke before the game about finding energy, I think tonight’s performance was up there with one of the better performances that we’ve had this season.
“It was important tonight to make sure that they were aware of what they achieved, the score line looks the way it does in terms of getting to 9-0, but for us more than anything it was about how we got to that point.
“I thought the way we played in small spaces was excellent, and the way we hurt Clyde in their final third was at a really high level – and add to that we came away with no goals against us as well which is a real positive performance from a defensive point of view.
“It was a strong performance with strong individual performances, we’re playing a very condensed Glasgow Cup just now that we believe we can go have a strong campaign within.”
Meanwhile, Rangers have been branded “out of touch” by influential fan media amid reports regarding a link-up with Celtic Down Under.
