In-form Academy striker Chris McKee has signed a one-year contract extension at Rangers, tying him to the club until 2022.
The news was announced via the Rangers Youth Academy Twitter account on Thursday afternoon and it follows an outstanding run of form from the 18-year-old at B team level.

With 8, McKee has scored double the number of goals of any other player in the Rangers B team this season as he thrives against senior opposition.
The teenager’s Gers contract had been due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but his performances over the last few months have clearly convinced the club to act.
McKee has represented Northern Ireland at U19 level and he received his first U21s call-up earlier in the month for a European Championship qualifier against Ukraine.
“Delighted to sign a new deal with Rangers,” he wrote on Twitter shortly after the announcement. “Can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

With the array of attacking talent currently available to Steven Gerrard, it’s unlikely that McKee will be receiving a call-up to the Gers first-team any time soon, but with his short-term future secured, he can get back to focusing on scoring goals and impressing the club’s coaching staff.
