Rangers starlet Leon King has reacted on Twitter after the Young Gers received a very tough-looking draw in the UEFA Youth League.

David McCallum’s side hammered Hammarby IF over two legs in the Domestic Champions path first round before impressively brushing aside Septemvri Sofia of Bulgaria in the second round.

That earned them a place in a one-legged playoff with a runner up from the Champions League group path, with a place in the Last 16 up for grabs.

Rangers faced Atletico Madrid at this stage in the 2019/20 edition of the tournament and were hammered 4-0 at Firhill and the Spanish giants were potential opponents again heading into Tuesday morning’s draw.

The Young Gers successfully avoided Atletico but they were drawn against another big Spanish club – Sevilla.

Sevilla were runners-up in Group G of the Champions League path, finishing just one point behind group winners Red Bull Salzburg on eleven points and ahead of both Lille and Wolfsburg.

The tie is set to be played at Dumbarton on either the 8th or the 9th of February.

It’s set to be a major test for a very talented Rangers squad and Leon King responded to the draw on Twitter within minutes of it being made.

It’s clear that he’s excited about the challenge, as he tweeted blue heart and star eye emojis.

He wasn’t the only young Ger to respond to the draw, with left-back Robbie Fraser – who has impressed in the Lowland League in recent weeks – tweeting blue heart and muscle emojis.

King and Fraser are both in action tonight in a Glasgow Cup match against Partick Thistle at the Rangers Training Centre.
