A 16-year-old forward has announced his arrival at Rangers with a bang.
His name is Kane Ritchie-Hosler and he’s a recent signing from Premier League champions, Manchester City.
The Scottish Sun reported in February, that the teenager had penned a pre-contract agreement to move north of the border.
According to Transfermarkt, the move materialised at the beginning of this month. Therefore, yesterday’s first pre-season game for the club’s U18s against Partick Thistle was his maiden appearance in Gers colours.
He netted twice for his new side, as they ran out 6-1 winners over the Jags. That’s not a bad start to life as a Ger – especially when playing two years up.
He put a celebratory post on Twitter on Monday evening.

Ritchie-Hosler isn’t the first exciting young talent the Gers have lured from a Premier League side.
Nathan Young-Coombes ended his time with Chelsea in order to move to Ibrox in the middle of last season. He had a fantastic first few months in Light Blue, starring in the side that won the Alkass International Cup and scoring the winning goal in the Scottish Youth Cup final.

Let’s hope Richie-Hosler can have a similarly positive impact with the club’s youth teams.
Then, a few years down the line, maybe both players will be starring for the senior team, having honed their skills in the Rangers Academy.
