Rangers have seen one of their highly-rated attacking prospects commit his future to the club this week.

The Ibrox outfit are looking to sign new players, but it is imperative that they retain some of their talented players as well.

Derek McInnes will work with a number of them in pre-season and then make decisions as to what the best step is in terms of their development.

Ruaridh Hall signs professional deal with Rangers

Rangers confirmed, via their official website on Friday, that Ruaridh Hall has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The young attacking midfielder/forward had an outstanding season in front of goal for the Under-17s, playing a big part in their impressive league title success.

He’s now committed his future to the Light Blues until the summer of 2029, penning a three-year deal at Ibrox.

The teenager grabbed headlines in the final game against Hibernian with a brilliant long-range lob, and he also stepped up to feature for the Under-19s, finding the back of the net against Queen’s Park in the Glasgow Cup.

On the international front, he has already represented Scotland at the youth level.

Why extending Hall’s deal is good news for Rangers

Hall, as a player who’s already represented Scotland at the international level, has the ability to push on and become a first-team player for Rangers in the future.

At 16, he has shown why he’s rated so highly amongst his peers, and the only sensible decision was to hand him a new deal.

Rangers have lost a number of promising youngsters in the past to clubs in the Premier League, so by being able to retain the teenager’s services, they have proven that there are hot prospects willing to buy into their plan for the future.

What is your reaction to the new third kit?

It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…

He has already proven to be a goal threat, scoring goals aplenty for the Under-17s, which guided them to the league title.

Hall has already featured for the Under-19s, so he is showing great promise at a young age.

Tying him down to a deal gives the Gers the opportunity and the time to develop him and gradually see if he’s ready to make it to the next level.

This also sends a message to the other players in the academy that the current plan is working and that the Interim Head of Academy, David McCallum, must be lauded.
