Barry Ferguson has revealed what he noticed when he called up Aiden McCallion to train with the senior Rangers players.
McCallion is yet to make his first-team Gers debut, but Ferguson has been impressed with his potential.
He backs the 17-year-old midfielder to have a bright future, having seen how he responded to first-team drills on a daily basis.

Barry Ferguson believes Aiden McCallion is not ready for Rangers debut
While Ferguson has waxed lyrical over his potential, he does think he has the physicality required to make his senior debut and be a regular for Rangers.
The former Gers boss also believes that it is difficult to bring in a young player in the current environment, as the games will be intense due to a title challenge.
He told Five Stars VIP: “He’s a talent. I had him up every single day, training with us.
“Physically, he’s not matured yet, but I’ve seen there’s definitely a player for the future.
“But it is tough to bring a young player into this sort of environment.”

Why McCallion could make his senior debut for Rangers next season
While Ferguson makes valid points about this season, there is a high possibility that Danny Rohl asks the midfielder to train with the senior players in pre-season and gives him a run in the early stages of cup games next season.
McCallion has come up the ranks at Ibrox, having been at the club since the age of 7, and last season won the Academy Player of the Year award as well.
He has already captained youth teams at multiple age groups and has been a standout performer regardless of where he’s played.

The Scotsman is known for his short and crisp passing, and he would perfectly fit into Rohl’s system.
The 17-year-old has already been an unused substitute in Europa League and Scottish Premiership games, so the next step will be for him to come off the bench.
Everything suggests that he is on the right path towards achieving that, and it would also be a heartfelt moment for the fans who love seeing one of their own make his senior debut.
