When a substitution changes a game, the manager gets credit. But tonight, it should all go to Glenn Middleton.
Only 18 years of age, the flying winger has looked every year the senior and has took his adoption to the top team in his stride.
A Rangers fan, this is a young player who shows no fear. Capable of taking anyone on, his bravery was the reason we got a result tonight. He played a ball they’d be raving about if an Englishman had. Seriously.

Young but full of b****
One advantage to Middelton’s youth is his controlled confidence. He’s willing to go past a man and trusts his pace. We saw it several times and Villarreal struggled to deal with it.
What’s even more impressive is his obvious technical ability. What a ball to put Barisic in for Lafferty.
He gets everyone up off their seat, whether or opposition or Rangers fan. Glenn Middleton looks a really exciting prospect.

Rangers have a raw, young talent on their hands
When Middleton joined Rangers, there were murmurs of his ability. Subtle talk of the impression he’d made down south.
No one expected to see it so soon.
His superb cameo showing followed up a first, hard worked goal against Dundee.
Gerrard spoke about taking youth into the first team.
Under his leadership Middelton is developing into a superb talent.
