Demi Vance scored her second goal in two games for Rangers Women as they beat Spartans 1-0 yesterday at Ainslie Park and the Northern Irish international was delighted to score on her return from international duty.
Vance’s 14th-minute header maintained the Gers’ 100% record to start the season and after representing her country last week, Vance was more pleased with helping to record a clean sheet than she was with scoring.

The result leaves the Gers third in the table on goal difference ahead of facing second-placed Hibs next weekend.
“I thought it was a good solid performance. We kept it nice and tight at the back and obviously we got the clean sheet,” Vance told Rangers TV.
I shouldn’t really be scoring all the goals but it was good to get a goal especially after coming back from international duty.
“The most important part was getting the three points and keeping the clean sheet.
“I thought we kept the ball quite well and we were nice and calm on the ball. We were good going forward and I thought overall we were solid today.”
Rangers have made a strong start to the campaign after wins over Hearts and Spartans and will be looking to make a real go of the title this season.
With Glasgow City looking to win it for a fourteenth successive season, Malky Thomson’s side will have a huge task but look to be capable of challening this season.
A strong run of early wins would really put the Gers in a good position with the club’s investment in the women’s game starting to show signs of paying off.
