Rangers launch bespoke women's team shirt ahead of new season

Rangers and Castore have launched a bespoke home shirt for the Women’s team ahead of the SWPL season getting underway next month after a seven-month layoff.

The Women’s kit looks similar to the Men’s first-team kit but has an alternate print in the fabric featuring a zig-zag pattern and bespoke fitted neck to further strengthen the Women’s first-team’s own identity.

The announcement on the club’s website called the move a “major milestone in the development and professionalism of the women’s game” and the new design will be available for fans to purchase from next month.

DCP continue as the front of shirt sponsor with Utilita & A Friend design agency taking up spots on the back of the shirt and sleeve.

Malky Thomson’s side returned for pre-season earlier this month and get the new season underway away to Hearts on October 18.

After the 2020 season was ended soon after it started as a result of Covid, the SWPL will revert to a ‘traditional’ winter calendar this season as the likes of Scotland international Lizzie Arnot bolster the Gers title push.

Once Rangers have face Hearts at Auchenhowie, the Light Blues then face back-to-back trips to Edinburgh to take on Spartans and then Hibs before welcoming bitter rivals Celtic to Milngavie on November 15.

Glasgow City will once again be the huge favourites to win the title again this season after winning the league in 14 of the 18 seasons so far – with City coming out on top every year since 2007/08.
