Rangers remain on course for a historic SWPL title this season after a 6-1 win over Partick Thistle yesterday at Auchenhowie.
After seeing Glasgow City thrash Motherwell earlier in the day, the Light Blues fell behind to an early goal from the Jags, before roaring back and securing a comprehensive victory.
Kayla McCoy’s hat-trick, a Lizzie Arnot double and a stunning strike from Zoe Ness sealed the win for Rangers and kept them right in the hunt for the title.
Having gone behind just six minutes in, McCoy scored her first of the afternoon in the 13th minute before Ness curled one home from 25-yards to make it 2-1 Rangers with 30 minutes gone.
Just as the first half was coming to an end, McCoy headed her second goal of the afternoon from Demi Vance’s dangerous cross, leaving Rangers cruising to victory.

Two minutes after the restart it was 4-1 Rangers and McCoy had her hat-trick, knocking home Lizzie Arnot’s cross from the left.
Having had a hand in setting up goals, it was time for Lizzie Arnot to get a couple of her own, netting from the penalty spot on 72 minutes before netting her second and rounding off the scoring on a good afternoon for the Gers.
Rangers remain a point behind Glasgow City in the table, having played two games fewer, and they’ll be hoping they can continue their momentum and get their hands on the title and end City’s dominance of the women’s game in Scotland.
Next up for Rangers in the SWPL is a trip to face Hamilton next weekend with Accies rooted to the bottom of the SWPL1 table.
