Aberdeen midfielder Graeme Shinnie has signed a pre-contract with Wigan, according to reports, and it is great news for Rangers.
The Dons captain had been linked with a move to Ibrox but he simply isn’t up to scratch.

With news that he looks to be heading to England, it will be a relief for Gers fans.
Steven Gerrard’s side already has a host of midfielders and there’s little scope for Shinnie to fit into the side.

After making the breakthrough at left-back, Shinnie was converted to a midfielder and has impressed Aberdeen fans but that’s not enough to be a success at Rangers.

He’ll probably do a job for Wigan – beside ex-Gers Josh Windass and Joe Garner – but there’s a good argument that it is about Shinnie’s level.
As Gerrard’s side look to lift their first title in eight years, there are far better targets still out there.
There won’t be any Rangers fans losing sleep over the midfielder heading down south.
