Rangers winger Jordan Jones looks to have taken another step closer to the Ibrox exit door after he was omitted from the player list for Thursday’s Europa League tie with Lincoln Red Imps.

The Northern Irish international hasn’t featured for Rangers since pre-season and was left off the 21-man list for the trip to Gibraltar, as confirmed on UEFA’s website.

Jones has regularly been linked with a move away from the club despite only joining the Gers last summer and the writing looks to have been on the wall for him since his ill-fated Old Firm debut 12 months ago which left him injured for several months.

With the likes of Brandon Barker and Greg Stewart ahead of him in the pecking order, the former Kilmarnock star would appear to be completely frozen out at Ibrox as Rangers look to make the Europa League group stage for the third successive year.

Jones has only mustered up 15 appearances for Rangers since his move to Ibrox, failing to score and recording only two assists so it isn’t really much of a surprise to see that he’s not getting a look in just now.

As Rangers continue to look for new additions to the squad, it seems almost impossible to see a way back for Jones at Ibrox now and his absence from the Europa League squad list is just the latest in a long list of signs that his Gers career is over.
