Rangers 'offered' £20million midfielder being chased by five PL sides - report

Rangers have been offered the chance to sign Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks, according to a report, although any prospect of a move to Ibrox is likely to be killed by interest from elsewhere.

90min reports that five Premier League clubs want to sign Winks from Spurs while also claiming that he has been offered to Rangers this summer.

Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leicester and Wolves are all said to be keen on the ten-cap England star.

Spurs reportedly want £20million to sell Winks and that immediately makes it seem implausible that he’ll end up at Ibrox – unless Tottenham are willing to let him go on loan.

That seems unlikely though so it seems a little bid odd that Spurs would have offered him to Rangers in the first place.

Rangers almost certain not to be signing Harry Winks this summer

While agents – or clubs – may want to drive up interest by naming Rangers as a possible destination, Harry Winks isn’t heading for Ibrox.

Having lost his place to Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Yves Bissouma arriving at Spurs this summer, Winks is just as unlikely to remain a Spurs player.

Unless ENIC owner Joe Lewis has decided to do Rangers a favour after his failed investment in the Gers 35 years ago, we can chalk this one up as nonsense.

If Winks does by some miracle wind up at Rangers, it’ll be worth it just for the meltdown as Celtic fans demand to know where the money is coming from (although they’d maybe have a point this time).
