Rangers learn Lewis Ferguson valuation as Ibrox transfer chances revealed

Lewis Ferguson continues to be linked with a fairytale return to Rangers this summer.

The Scotland international was at the club’s academy until 2013 but did not make a first-team appearance for them.

Now, the attacking midfielder is at Bologna and has been linked with an exit after spending four years in Italy.

Which midfielder can make Rangers title winners?

Danny Rohl is looking to sign at least one…

Rangers will not pay £20m to sign Lewis Ferguson

Bologna have slapped a price tag of £20m on Ferguson as they are aware of the interest shown in him, according to Ibrox Noise.

Inter Milan had been willing to offer £18m recently, but Bologna were unwilling to accept that.

The 26-year-old’s valuation most certainly puts him out of the Light Blues’ price range.

Would you want Rangers to compete in the Europa League or the Conference League next season?

Money will be more in the Europa League, but the Conference League gives you a better chance of a European trophy…

While Rangers would love to sign Ferguson, they cannot be shelling out what would be the majority of the transfer budget on one player.

They are unwilling to go north of £15m for the Scotsman, and that is something that the Serie A giants will be turning down.

The Gers do not generate that kind of money, and without Champions League football, it makes things even more difficult.

Ferguson himself does not fancy a return to Scotland at this stage of his career, so an Ibrox transfer can most certainly be ruled out.

Which other midfielders are Rangers looking at?

While signing a new midfielder is not a priority for Danny Rohl, the German is open to bringing in at least one new central midfielder before the transfer window ends.

Elliot Watt is high on Rangers’ wishlist, but no move has been launched yet for the Motherwell midfielder.

The 26-year-old fits in their price range as well, but there are other clubs keen on securing his services.

David Watson will surely not be moving to Ibrox as he is set to join Bolton Wanderers.

Dan Neil appears likely to join Rangers from Sunderland, and it remains to be seen if Rohl does eye another midfielder following his arrival.

The 24-year-old is likely to be a first-team regular at Ibrox, and this could mean Mohamed Diomande is potentially shown the exit door should Nicolas Raskin stay.
