Rangers have rubbished reports that Sevilla have submitted a £7million for Alfredo Morelos, as speculation over the Colombian’s future continues.
Reports in Spain claimed that the La Liga side have offered €8million for El Bufalo as he enters the final year of his deal but that has been dismissed by the Light Blues.
Morelos missed the final months of the season through injury but has been a vital part of the Gers side since arriving from HJK Helsinki for £1million in 2017.
However, with only a year left on his current contract clubs are eyeing a cut-price deal for the Ibrox talisman this summer.
Rangers can’t let Morelos leave on the cheap this summer
With Rangers said to be wanting to sign Morelos to a new contract, the club simply can’t let him leave on the cheap this summer.
Despite going into the final year of his deal, it would be preferable to take the gamble that he will eventually sign on, similar to Connor Goldson this summer, than sell him for peanuts.
Although that means Rangers could end up losing him for free, it would be better to have taken the chance he’ll be convinced to stay than let him move on for a fraction of his value now.
