The agent of former Rangers defender Nathan Patterson has blasted reports suggesting the Everton star could be sent out on loan, insisting it was “totally made up” by The Sun.
Patterson, who is just making his return to action after injury, featured for the Toffees yesterday as he recorded two assists in a 4-2 win over Blackpool.
Agent Grant Smith took to Twitter to take aim at the reports as he called them “embarrassing” as he accused the paper of trying to “harm” the Scotland international, saying: “Embarrassing again.
“Never once has loan been considered. They even mention in this article the story was an exclusive even though it was totally made up by a freelance guy. Why do we constantly try & harm our young players up here.”
Smith sometimes uses the social media platform to correct inaccurate reports about the defender, famously clamping Twitter clown ‘Agent Scotland’ over his ridiculous claims over Patterson’s transfer to Everton.
Patterson yet to make mark at Everton following Rangers departure
So far, Patterson’s game time for Everton has been limited to 45 minutes in the FA Cup against Boreham Wood, however, an injury brought a premature end to his debut season on Merseyside.
If Patterson is in Lampard’s plans, it would be great to see him get his chance to impress at Everton and show just why the Toffees were so keen to lure him away from Rangers.
With the new season rapidly approaching, Patterson has plenty to offer and his performance yesterday will have given the Everton coaching staff plenty to think about.
