St. Mirren have confirmed they have re-signed Rangers flop Lee Hodson on loan until the end of the season.
Hodson spent last season on loan with the Buddies from Rangers before opting to sign for Gillingham over the summer.
After struggling for game-time with the Gills, the Northern Irish international has headed back to Paisley on a short-term deal, a move which the 28-year-old called a “no brainer.”
“I’m delighted to be back at a club where I enjoyed my football at last season,” Hodson told St. Mirren’s website.
“The club has a great fanbase and I’m looking forward to getting in and around it all again.
“I had a good chat with the manager and I can only speak very highly of him after the conversations I’ve had with him. I’m really looking forward to working under him.
“When I heard there was interest it was a no brainer really. As I said I really enjoyed my time here last season, there’s a great fanbase and I know the lads here, so it was an easy decision to come back.”
Hodson’s last appearance for Gillingham came as late substitute in a win over Doncaster in early December as he struggled to make his mark.
During his time at Rangers, he managed 27 appearances over three years at Ibrox, after being signed by Mark Warburton in 2016 from MK Dons.
Hodson could prove to be a decent signing for St. Mirren though with experience of both the club and Scottish Premiership sure to come in handy as they look to move clear of the relegation places.
