Rangers fans in Italy will be able to tune in live to see Steven Gerrard’s side take on Livingston this weekend as the SPFL’s latest TV deal takes effect.

Broadcaster Sportitalia has picked up the rights to show live Scottish Premiership games and will broadcast the entire weekend’s fixtures live in HD, according to the Daily Record.

The Gers will face some competition for viewers though, with Fiorentina taking on Juventus an hour earlier.

The day of live Scottish action will kick off with Hamilton hosting Celtic at noon before the full slate of 3pm kick-offs will be shown.

With the prospect of Celtic dropping points at Hamilton a few hours before the Gers get underway, there could be a fantastic chance to make up ground and close the three-point gap at the top of the table.

Hopefully, the expansion into Italy sees clubs benefit with the gulf between the top leagues and smaller nations widening at a phenomenal rate.

Bringing some extra viewers to the table should see clubs like Rangers generate some more interest and attract new sponsors or investment.
