Six Rangers players – Allan McGregor, James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Steven Davis, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos – got the nod.

David McCarthy of the Daily Record described McGregor as the ‘best keeper in the country by a distance’, while Andy Newport of the Press Association labelled Tavernier’s campaign ‘sensational’.

No additional analysis was provided on Goldson or Morelos, but Scott McDermott of the Sunday Mail said 36-year-old Davis ‘defied his age’ in midfield, while Liam McLeod of BBC Scotland said Kent was the ‘spark that would often turn a tight game into a victory’.

All six of those players fully deserved their inclusions but plenty of Bears felt more Rangers stars should have got the nod.
