Motherwell fans’ Rangers banner backfires as Gers all but empty Fir Park

As Rangers visited Fir Park to face Motherwell the Ibrox side were greeted by a foul-mouthed banner and cringeworthy attempt at patter from some of the home fans.

The ML1 Crew maintained their sterling track record of shamefully poor Rangers-related banter as they unfurled the Zombie-themed scrawl on Halloween.

Taking aim at Rangers’ financial collapse in 2012 and subsequent demotion, the Steelmen support were too busy Sevcoing their way into the hearts and minds of Celtic dahs everywhere to mentally prepare for the bruising coming their way in Lanarkshire.

We obviously can’t share it here but click HERE for the uncensored version.

Whilst it started out all smiles in the home end at Fir Park – all’s fair and well in love & fitba and we’re game for a bit of banter no matter how poor – Rangers had all but emptied the stadium by full time.

Rangers empty Fir Park as Motherwell banner backfires

Motherwell’s first half opener through Bevis Mugabi had their fans dreaming but Rangers made it 50 league games unbeaten against the Well by the final whistle. And did so in style.

Rangers ran riot as the club hammered the Lanarkshire side 6-1 with Fashion Sakala netting a hattrick and birthday boy James Tavernier stealing the show.

As Rangers demolished the Fir Park side, upset fans exited Fir Park en masse presumably taking their shoddy banner with them.

Don’t you just love it when this kind of stuff comes back to haunt rival fans and teams?

Not only are Rangers very much alive and kicking, but their fans were having a Halloween party in Motherwell’s ground whilst the Steelmen mopped up their tears with their banner.

The result puts Rangers four points clear in the Scottish Premiership title race with Motherwell now suffering defeat in four of their last five games in the nation’s top-flight.

The Steelmen are now down to 7th, only a couple of bad results away from finding themselves in a relegation battle this season.

Fashion Sakala was the hero of the day for Rangers and fans have been loving a new chant which has been adopted for the forward.
