Rangers put in a dominant display against St Johnstone on Wednesday night as the Light Blues strolled to a 2-0 win over the Perth side – but Gers fans on Twitter were left bemused by Sky Sports’ highlights package from the Ibrox triumph.

The broadcaster shared a three-minute clip of the ‘best’ of the action from Ibrox but somehow managed to fail to show the many of the best moments from the win over Callum Davidson’s side.

Despite there being plenty of buzz around Rangers’ performance on Wednesday night from fans and pundits alike, Sky’s focus for the three-minutes of highlights seemed to be showing loads of tackles and a couple of yellow cards.

Just to make sure they at least got a couple positive clips in, Sky did throw in the two goals but even those were trimmed down and shoe-horned in.

The build-up to Ryan Kent’s strike as the Gers played out from the back was all left on the cutting-room floor in  favour of every showing single time the ref reached into his pocket and pulled out a yellow card for someone.

That left Rangers fans fed up with the ever-decreasing quality of Sky Sports’ coverage of Scottish football – leading to some to call for BT Sports to get the rights back and replace Sky as the SPFL’s sole broadcaster.

With plenty of complaints from fans over the pocket change TV deals Scottish football is given by Sky and the continued mistakes they make with club names and badges, there’s little wonder fans were scunnered with the latest half-hearted effort from Sky.

At this rate, the highlights of the Dundee United game will just be two minutes of random punters in the crowd before a thirty-second clip of Charlie Mulgrew looking for his car keys.

Here are some of the comments from bemused Rangers fans:

In other news, two Rangers stars will be facing off against each other as the draw for the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League was made.
