The Light Blues welcomed Marseille to Ibrox in their second pre-season friendly as Steven Gerrard’s side eased to a 4-0 win.
After Daniel Candeias’ double gave the Light Blues a 2-0 half-time lead, Gers boss Steven Gerrard made five half-time changes with Wes Foderingham, Nikola Katic, Greg Docherty, Sheyi Ojo and Jermain Defoe replacing Allan McGregor, George Edmundson, Steven Davis, Alfredo Morelos and Candeias.

Despite that, Rangers were still in control and Gerrard’s side continued to press their opponents high in their own half.
Rangers finally made it 3-0 through Connor Goldson when the defender poked home after Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda parried Katic’s header from a corner.
This sparked the next wave of Rangers substitutions as Matt Polster, Glen Kamara, Andy Halliday and Jamie Murphy replaced Tavernier, Jack, Aribo and Jones.

Rangers finally got their fourth goal after some excellent work down the right by Ojo.
The winger showed some excellent footwork before his cross found Defoe and the veteran hitman stooped low to head home and make it 4-0 and round off an easy win for Gerrard’s side.
Here are the Rangers player ratings for XI that ended the friendly clash with Marseille:
Wes Foderingham – 6
Replaced McGregor at the break and, like McGregor, had virtually nothing to do.
Matt Polster – 6
Introduced after an hour and played as a holding midfielder alongside Kamara before moving to right-back following Tavernier’s substitution. American kept it simple as the game slowed down after a raft of changes.
Nikola Katic – 7
Took over from Edmundson at half-time and didn’t put a foot wrong. Denied a goal by Connor Goldson and impressed after coming off the bench.
Lewis Mayo – 6
Replaced Connor Goldson for the final ten minutes but unlikely to see much more action after the arrival of Filip Helander yesterday.
Andy Halliday – 7
Came on for Barisic and slotted in at left-back with no problems. Tried to push forward and create more openings as the game wore on. Does what is asked of him with no fuss.
Glen Kamara – 7
Finnish international took over from Ryan Jack and strolled through the game. Kamara rarely wastes a pass and has been a fantastic acquisition by the Gers.

Greg Docherty – 7
Replaced Davis at the break. Energetic performance in the middle of the park from Doc as he looks to kick on from his successful loan spell at Shrewsbury. Denied by a great save by Mandanda.
Jamie Murphy – 7
Continued his return from injury when he came on for the final 30 minutes. Looked hungry and was really good to see Murphy back in action at Ibrox for the first-team.
Sheyi Ojo – 7
The on-loan Liverpool man picked up where he left off against St. Joseph’s as he drove forward constantly and tried to break through the Marseille defence.
Jamie Barjonas – 6
The midfielder came off the bench for the final fifteen minutes but not involved much.
Jermain Defoe – 7
The veteran striker came on at the break for Morelos and had a typically quiet afternoon before coming to life when the ball was in the penalty area. Took his goal well.
