Celtic’s descent into what has quickly become known as the ‘Banner Years’ has kept Rangers fans entertained over the last few months – but their recent sideline as an online birthday greeting company has them in tears this morning.
With anyone who has even a tangential link to Celtic getting sent a happy birthday, it was Old Firm legend Anton Rogan’s turn to be chucked under the bus.

The defender became a big favourite of Rangers fans when he inexplicably punched the ball as he contested a Terry Butcher cross with Richard Gough in an Old Firm clash on April 1 1990.
Mark Walters stepped up to convert the resulting penalty before Mo Johnston added a second with Ally McCoist completing the scoring from the spot to break Derek Johnstone’s post-war Gers league scoring record with his 211th league goal for the club.

Rangers fans were quick to join in with the well-wishes for Rogan on his his 55th birthday as the 31st anniversary of his Old Firm moment of madness – which also happened to be the first Old Firm broadcast live by Sky – nears.
