Rangers could be set to miss out on reported target Lawrence Shankland after it was reported that Sunderland are now ‘favourites’ to snap up the prolific hitman.

The Sun suggest Jack Ross’ side are now set to secure Shankland’s signature after he left Ayr United at the end of the season.

Shankland’s goalscoring exploits won him the SPFL Championship Tartan Ball last season as he banged them in for Ian McCall’s side.
