Rangers midfielder Steven Davis has confessed that he’s enjoyed being involved in “fantastic” European games at Ibrox since returning to the club in January – and wants to experience more this season.

The Northern Irish midfielder returned in January after seven years away and admits the squad got a taste of it last season as they reached the Europa League group stages last season – with Davis making his European return against St. Joseph’s.

Davis admits the Gers have made a solid start this season but wants to “build on that” in the upcoming qualifiers against Progres Niederkorn.

“I’ve enjoyed night games anyway and obviously European games, especially at home here at Ibrox, they are fantastic nights to be involved in”, Davis told Rangers TV.

“I’ve played in some really big ones, the team got a taste of it last year and left the boys wanting more.

“So we’re hopeful we can go on and qualify once again.

“It’s obviously a good solid start in the first round we’ve made and hopefully we can build on that in the coming up games.”

Davis has been indispensable since his return and the midfielder is going to be crucial to any chances the Gers have of success this season.

Alongside Scott Arfield, Davis has the quality to dominate games and dictate the tempo as Gerrard’s side look to finally get their hands on the league title.

Hopefully, there’s plenty of European nights to go along with that far Davis to savour.
