Rangers will have their ticket allocation at Rugby Park halved for the final game of the season against Kilmarnock – leaving some Gers fans on Twitter furious with the Ayrshire side.
Killie confirmed that the Gers support would only be given the Chadwick Stand rather than the Chadwick and Moffat Stand as they celebrate their 150th anniversary.
The two sides meet on May 19th in a match that could have massive repercussions for Killie’s hopes of securing European football next season.
Previous visits by the Light Blues typically double Killie’s average gates of around 6000, with the Gers regularly selling out both stands – however that won’t be the case this time with Rangers only getting around 4000 tickets instead of the usual 8000.
With Killie only selling around 4000 tickets of their own for the previous meetings between the sides this season, they stand to take a substantial financial hit.
Some Gers fans were that incensed by the decision that they called for a boycott of away grounds while others found Kilmarnock’s decision “laughable.”
Here are some of the best comments from Gers fans on Twitter:
Cheek of Kilmarnock to cut our allocation when they canny afford a proper pitch

Rangers fans should all now boycott away games. When are we going to realise we are taken as mugs continually when it suits. Hibs, Hearts now Kilmarnock.

Whilst this is a petty stunt from Kilmarnock, Rangers are in no position to complain. By cutting Celtic’s allocation at Ibrox it opened us wide open to reciprocal action from other clubs.
Said it was wrong move then and stand by it. The losers in this are Rangers away fans.

Kilmarnock cutting Rangers allocation is meant to hurt us?
If anything it makes them even more laughable.

I’d really like Rangers to ask what’s being insinuated here. I’m all for our fans following the team but this needs a boycott. Kilmarnock would struggle to exist without us. https://t.co/obgOTWmX07

Fantastic to see RSC calling for a boycott of Kilmarnock

We’ve been shafted as a support for far too long. Clubs happy to take the blue pound when it suits them.
Tell Kilmarnock to shove it. Enough is enough and it’s about time the club showed a bit of backbone over this.
