Ross Wilson gives verdict on possible Rangers exit for Gerrard

Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson has opened up on speculation over Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox future – and the Gers chief doesn’t think Gerrard is going to go somewhere he doesn’t have the demand to “win every single day.”

Gerrard has been named as a possible contender for a number of jobs, including Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, but Wilson thinks the biggest aspect for Gerrard will be having that same pressure.

“I find it hard to imagine Steven doing anything that doesn’t demand that you have to win every single day,” Wilson said [The Telegraph].

“I am sure there are more clubs than Rangers and Liverpool that demand you win every single day. I don’t know what the future holds for him other than it’ll be a successful one.

“This is a man who has to have that intensity to win. There is a relentlessness in him. I could not imagine him doing anything that was normal.

“As a club we have been absolutely committed to Steven and the group of staff that work with him. In terms of what he wants to do in his career, it will definitely be about winning.”

While there is an expectation that Gerrard will one day move to Liverpool, hopefully, he decides that he doesn’t need to go anywhere else to make the step to Anfield.

Meanwhile, two former Rangers players and a well-known bluenose have been affected by a high-profile managerial departure
