Ibrox flop linked with Manchester United after stunning turnaround

Rangers flop Umar Sadiq has been linked with a stunning move to Premier League giants Manchester United after turning his career around at Partizan Belgrade.

The Nigerian striker was an unmitigated disaster during his loan spell at Ibrox but could now be Old Trafford-bound, according to Serbian media outlet Telegraf.

He was the hero of Partizan fans yesterday as his dazzling run provided the assist for Bibras Natcho to score the only goal against bitter rivals Red Star and fire his side into the Serbian Cup Final.

AC Milan, Valencia and Moscow sides CSKA and Spartak are also said to be trailing the lanky striker who has hit 17 goals in 35 games this season.

His spell at Ibrox was summed up by an embarrassing dive in the Scottish League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen before his temporary deal was ripped up six months early.

He only managed a miserable four appearances and quickly returned to Italy and joined Perugia on loan, although that move didn’t seem to go that much better than his time at Ibrox.

A move to Manchester – or any of the other clubs touted – would be a remarkable turn around for someone who looked badly out of his depth against even the most mundane opposition while at Rangers.
