Rangers transfer target Joe Aribo is expected to make a decision over his future this week, according to reports, as his Charlton contract enters its final weeks.
The Scottish Daily Mail (10/6, page 77) report that the 10-goal midfielder is giving “serious consideration” to joining the Light Blues with a number of other clubs also interested.
Aribo has been offered a new deal by Charlton after helping the Addicks win promotion to the Championship with an injury-time playoff final win over Sunderland but it looks likely that he’ll leave The Valley this summer.
Former Ger Marcus Gayle told last week how Aribo had been in contact with him asking about his time at Ibrox so it seems there is some real thought being given to joining Rangers.
Whether Aribo would be able to force his way into the side is a different matter though, with Gerrard’s side having plenty of options in the middle of the park.
At only 22, there’s still plenty of room for Aribo to improve so it could be that Gerrard has one eye on the future when it comes to signing him.
With the Gers due to report back to the Hummel Training Centre for pre-season next week, Rangers will no doubt be hoping to get a deal done for Aribo in the coming days.
