Rangers 'target' could make January loan move after reported La Liga talks

Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard could leave Old Trafford on loan in January, Sky Sports report, days after he was linked with a move to Rangers.

TEAMtalk recently claimed that both Rangers and Celtic were both interested in bringing the 27-year-old to Glasgow, with Gers fans not seeming too keen on the move.

According to Sky Sports’ report, Lingard’s representatives have already held talks with La Liga side Real Sociedad over a potential loan move in the new year.

Despite being named in both the Premier League and Champions League squads for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side, Lingard is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils this term in either competition.

He did he start the third-round win over Luton in the EFL Cup before a late substitute appearance in the fourth-round victory over Brighton but has only been an unused sub in the Premier League twice and Champions League once.

With his contract up at the end of the season, it looks as though it’s just a matter of time before he leaves Old Trafford and, if there is anything to the reports that Rangers are interested in a pre-contract deal, the Gers could look to bring him in on a temporary deal.

The finances involved may make it an likely one though, with his reported £100,000 per week wages far too much for Rangers to consider.
