Rangers supporters have clashed with fans of rival clubs Celtic and Aberdeen on Twitter after a gutting injury update on Ryan Jack.

Jack has been plagued by injury problems this season, only making 24 appearances in all competitions.

His most recent outing came almost two months ago in a Premiership fixture against Dundee United but he didn’t make it through the first half of the 4-1 win and has been sidelined ever since.

The 29-year-old recently visited a specialist in London in an attempt to get to the bottom of the issue and Steven Gerrard confirmed on Friday morning that he requires an operation.


As a result, he’s been ruled out of Rangers’ remaining fixtures and Euro 2020, in a major blow not only for himself but also for the two teams he represents.

Jack is arguably even more important to Steve Clarke’s side than he is to the Gers, as was evidenced when Scotland struggled in his absence in World Cup Qualifiers last month.

That’s a point that has been accepted by many Scotland supporters.

However, some still can’t see beyond their club allegiances and continue to play down his ability and influence on the national team.

When some Celtic and Aberdeen fans suggested that Jack’s absence for the Euros shouldn’t be a concern, Bears were quick to set the record straight.
