The Ibrox clash will be Steven Gerrard’s side’s first competitive fixture of 2019 after a near-three week winter break and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see several fringe players given a run-out.
Stranraer are currently rooted to the bottom of League One after the 3-0 defeat by Falkirk at the weekend and Stevie Farrell’s side will be aiming to minimise the damage when they visit Ibrox.
Celtic’s trip to face Partick Thistle 24 hours later will also be shown by Premier Sports while BBC Scotland has chosen to broadcast Hibs v Dundee United and Dundee v Motherwell.
There could even be a new face or two in the squad if Rangers delve into the transfer market during their winter training camp in Dubai.
The likes of Matt Polster, Andy Halliday, Jamie Barjonas, Greg Docherty, Andy King, Niko Katic and Wes Foderingham could all come into contention for the clash with the League One side too, with the Gers returning to league action for the first time in 2020 five days later when they host St. Mirren.
