Rangers take on Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena tonight as they look to book a League Cup semi-final place – and Gers fans on Twitter are surprised by how strong a side the Light Blues have named.

Steven Gerrard’s starting XI features only two changes from the side that beat St. Johnstone on Sunday with Glen Kamara and Scott Arfield replacing Steven Davis and the injured Brandon Barker.

Goals from Alfredo Morelos, Connor Goldson and Jermain Defoe’s late double sealed the win at McDiarmid Park and Gerrard’s side will be hoping for more of the same in West Lothian.

The Gers reached the semi-final stage last season, losing to Aberdeen at Hampden, and will be desperate to improve on that and end their wait for a first major trophy since 2011.

Steven Gerrard’s side ran out 3-0 winners on their last visit to Livingston with Ryan Jack, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos all getting on the scoresheet.

Gers fans on Twitter are pleased that Gerrard has named a strong side – with one fan saying the Gers boss isn’t “messing about.”
