Rangers could be without Ryan Jack tomorrow night against Benfica in the Europa League after Steven Gerrard confirmed he was a “doubt” – and Gers fans on Twitter think it will be a huge blow to be missing the Scotland international.
Gerrard will find out later on Wednesday whether he’ll have his midfield talisman available for the clash with Benfica, while also announcing that Bongani Zungu will again miss out as a result of the injury picked up on international duty.
“Ryan Jack is a doubt for tomorrow’s game, we won’t know until later today if available or not,” Gerrard said. [YouTube]
Jack has been in incredible form for Rangers this season and his absence will leave Gerrard with a selection dilemma with Glen Kamara and Steven Davis both in contention to start if he isn’t passed fit.
After playing twice for Scotland during the recent internationals, Jack also started the 4-0 rout of Aberdeen over the weekend before being replaced midway through the second half with Davis taking his place.
Fans weren’t happy when they heard news that Jack could miss out against Benfica – with one supporter saying his defensive work in Europe has been huge for the Light Blues this season.
