Rangers star Joe Aribo admit his goal against Hibs yesterday was a “long time coming” as the Nigerian confessed he wants to add regular goals to his game after netting the opener in the 2-1 win

Aribo scored his eighth of the season for Steven Gerrard’s side with his 20th-minute strike but was relieved he didn’t fire his effort into the stands behind the goal.

With the Light Blues having a number of crunch games coming, Aribo wants more goals as the Gers close in on a domestic double of the Scottish Cup and Scottish Premiership.

“I feel like it’s a long time coming, I want to keep scoring goals every single game that I play so I’m happy for myself that I could get the opening goal for the team,” Aribo said [Rangers TV].

“It was a nice finish, I just watched it, just took my time with the finish, I’m just glad that I didn’t sky it to be honest.”

Aribo has been a constant feature in the Rangers side when available this season and the Nigerian international is a massive part of Steven Gerrard’s squad as they prepare for this weekend’s Old Firm clash.
