Dundee new boy Adam Legzdins has told how Rangers star Greg Stewart helped sell him on a move to Dens Park after leaving Premier League side Burnley over the summer.
Legzdins and Stewart roomed together while the pair were at Birmingham City and the shotstopper asked the Gers star for advice on a move to the City of Discovery – and Stewart only had good things to say.
After three years as deputy as Burnley, Legzdins’ move was done quickly after speaking to the club and then catching up with the Rangers fringe man.
“A big thing this week was I spoke to Greg Stewart who was my roommate at Birmingham,” Legzdins told Dundee’s official website.
“As soon as I spoke to Greg, who I hold very dearly as a friend, he explained the size of the club to me and how much he enjoyed playing here and how good it is when you get the fans rocking here.”
Stewart racked up 25 appearances during his first season at Rangers, despite the league campaign ending early, managing three goals and five assists.
The arrival of Cedric Itten and Kemar Roofe have pushed him further down the pecking order this season though and the former Dundee and Birmingham star has barely been seen this season for Gerrard’s side.
