Rangers star Borna Barisic is committed to helping Steven Gerrard’s side dethrone bitter rivals Celtic, despite reported interest from Premier League side Leeds United.

According to the Daily Record, Barisic has no interest in linking up with Marcelo Bielsa’s side after being linked with a move to the Premier League new boys.

The Croatian international had an impressive season last term, winning a new contract until 2024, and is said to be happy with the Light Blues.

After a difficult first season at Rangers following his move from NK Osijek, Barisic has made himself one of the first names on Steven Gerrard’s teamsheet over the last 12 months.

His form last season saw the left-back linked with moves to a number of sides but none have tested Rangers’ resolve with a concrete bid for him.

Barisic faces competition for his place this season from Calvin Bassey but the Croat is the clear first choice with Bassey lacking any real first-team experience following his move from Leicester City.

If Leeds – or anyone else – do come in with a serious offer, Rangers may well have to seriously consider it but it seems unlikely that Barisic is going to be agitating for a move away soon.
