Scott Arfield has picked up some recognition for his outstanding Old Firm display.
Just like in the December edition, the Gers no.37 was at it from the word go on Sunday afternoon.
He hassled and harried the likes of Scott Brown and made excellent runs in between the lines. Just after the hour mark, he made the points safe, with a cool finish after great work from Glen Kamara and Jermain Defoe.
Consequently, he’s been named in the SPFL Team of the Week.

“Rangers came out on top in the final Old Firm clash of the season with a 2-0 victory at Ibrox,” reads the SPFL website. “Arfield was both industrious in the middle and an attacking menace, including netting the second goal.”
It’s the second such time Arfield has been included in 2019. He was named in the XI back in April, after his hat-trick in the 3-0 away win over Motherwell.
The ex-Burnley star has looked a good signing ever since he arrived at Ibrox last summer.
However, since Steven Gerrard shifted him higher up the pitch, he’s been a revelation. With five goals in his last six matches, he now represents a real threat in the final third.
Looking ahead to next year, then, he’ll be looking to go well past this season’s overall league tally of eleven.
