Rangers star rejects Middle East move to stick with Gers - report

Rangers star Alfredo Morelos has ‘knocked back’ a move to Qatar, according to a report.

The Daily Mail reports that the Ibrox star was wanted by Al Duhail but the Colombian is happy at Ibrox and will only consider leaving for a top league.

The likes of Rennes, Eintracht Frankfurt, Leicester City, Bordeaux, Dynamo Kiev and Sevilla have all been credited with an interest in the Gers talisman in the past.

Al Duhail have already signed former Juventus trio Mario Mandzukic, Mehdi Benatia and Han Kwang-song and reportedly contacted the Gers to find out whether Morelos is available or not.

Morelos bagged 29 goals last season as he had a blistering start to the campaign before his form evaporated after the winter break.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is thought to have identified Anderlecht’s Kemar Roofe as a potential replacement for El Bufalo, with reports in Belgium yesterday claiming that the Belgian side had rejected an offer from Ibrox for him.

Morelos is under contract at Ibrox until 2023 and it’s reported that Rangers are looking for at least £15million to allow him to leave the club he joined for £1million under Pedro Caixinha.
