Middleton excited to work with Defoe after Ibrox move

Rangers winger Glenn Middleton has admitted that he’s excited to play beside Jermain Defoe following the striker’s move to Ibrox.
Middleton has enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough season at Ibrox and is looking forward to learning from the veteran.

Defoe signed an 18-month loan deal and should make his competitive debut on Wednesday against Kilmarnock.
“When I heard he was signing for the club, I was pretty excited to say the least. Everyone knows what he has done in the game and he has shown in training what he is capable of.” Middleton said, as quoted by The Scotsman.
“He has been really good with everyone. He knows how to treat people. I have been watching him in training and seeing his little movements when he receives the ball, before he gets a shot on goal. I can’t fail to learn from a guy like that.”

The on-loan striker played the first-half of the 3-2 win over HJK Helsinki on Sunday at Ibrox.
His signing is likely to spark a tactical change by the Gers as Steven Gerrard tries to accommodate Defoe and Alfredo Morelos.

The Rugby Park clash could have huge repercussions in the title race if the Gers drop points.
With Killie only one point back, Gerrard’s side really need to win.
Middleton has made 25 appearances, scoring five time and contributing five assists, and was recently rewarded with a new contract.
