If you cast your mind back to the beginning of the summer you will recall a certain Parfait Guiagon being linked to Rangers.
Not only does the young Ivorian boast a wonderful name, but Rangers were said to be targeting the Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder alongside a top team in Greece.
But now it looks like Parfait Guiagon won’t be moving to either Rangers or Greece with a move to Belgian Pro League side Charleroi reportedly nearing completion.
According to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 22-year-old midfielder will sign a four year contract in Belgium taking him from Israel.

The move looks to be a solid one for Parfait Guiagon who was named in the Guardian’s top 60 young talents list in 2016 following trials at Barcelona and AS Monaco.

Not that Rangers are likely to be too disappointed.
Rangers were reportedly never interested in Parfait Guiagon
With the reports originally coming from Israel, they were quickly swatted away back in Scotland with tabloid outlets moving to quash the Rangers links.
Rangers also moved elsewhere with the Ibrox side signing Ecuadorean international Jose Cifuentes to bolster their midfield options.
But as Parfait Guiagon lines up a move to Belgium and not to Rangers, the Ibrox side are still in the hunt for fresh additions.
Ibrox manager Michael Beale has claimed the club are still looking to add new players, with a focus on shipping the club’s fringe stars out.

“I think there is a little bit in one or two of the names mentioned out there,” said Beale.
“There is a little bit of truth in there, but nothing for us to confirm right now.
“Come the end of the window, you may see one or two out and one in, but it’s all open at the moment.”
However, leading Scottish football journalist Chris Jack has claimed that Rangers fans may yet end up disappointed come the end of the window.
