Rangers manager Steven Gerrard welcomed his tenth signing of the summer to Ibrox yesterday when Andy King signed a season-long loan deal – but it now throws up another Europa League registration problem for the Gers boss.
King joins Brandon Barker as the latest new faces in the squad, with both in line to be added to the Europa League player list ahead of Thursday’s playoff clash with Legia Warsaw.

The likes of Matt Polster and Jake Hastie have already been removed to make way for others and there aren’t many obvious candidates to come out now.
Greg Stewart, Greg Docherty and Andy Firth would seem the most likely but removing Firth, and relying on one of the club’s youngsters as third-choice keeper leaves the Gers open to problems down the line.

Gerrard could even decide to leave one, or both, out of the European squad but that seems unlikely so he’s going to have a decision to make very soon.
