Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Borna Barisic will be fit for tomorrow night’s Europa League clash with Braga at Ibrox.

The Croatian defender has missed the last few games through injury after going off against Hamilton, with Andy Halliday standing in at left-back.

Gerrard confirmed at his press conference this afternoon that Barisic had taken part in most of yesterday’s training session and is available for selection tomorrow night.

Halliday also picked up a knock at the weekend after going over the advertising boards pitchside and crashing into a chair, leaving him with a nasty cut above his eye.

Barisic has been a crucial player for Gerrard’s side this season, and his return will be a big boost for the Gers ahead of the crunch clash with the in-form Portuguese side.

Without Barisic’s attacking influence down the left, the Gers haven’t looked as fluid going forward and the Croatian has been a key source of assists this season.

So far this season, the former Osijek star has contributed 14 assists in 33 appearances, including four in the Europa League group stage.

Rangers will be without Filip Helander and Jermain Defoe through injury and Ryan Jack will miss out through suspension as they look to get themselves in front before the return in Portugal next Wednesday.
