Rangers icon Paul Gascoigne is set to appear on the Italian version of Strictly Come Dancing, his management have confirmed, after sharing a video of the former England star practicing his moves.

Gazza will appear on Ballando con Le Stelle after his appearance was originally delayed as a result of Covid-19 restrictions.

He was shown making Apple Crumble before launching into a rendition of ‘Consider Yourself’ from the 1960 Broadway musical Oliver!

“We have not made it a secret that he’s been in discussions with them for a long time,” a spokesman said, as quoted by The Sun.

“But because of Covid it all got put back.

“He is supposed to be going on in the next couple of weeks so we will know more about that tomorrow.”

Gascoigne is no stranger to Italy after his spell with Lazio in the 90s helped make Italian football a staple on British TV.

The mercurial former star will be entertaining if nothing else during his stint on Italian TV and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Rangers legend makes more headlines when he does appear.

Gazza won’t be the first footballer to appear on the show with Dani Osvaldo finishing third in the competition in 2019.
