Rangers winger Glenn Middleton has sparked speculation over the future of his season-long loan deal with Hibs after reportedly deleting all references to the capital side from his social media accounts.

According to the Not The Old Firm, Middleton has removed any mention of the Hibees on his Twitter and Instagram accounts leaving fans wondering if he could be heading back to Ibrox much sooner than expected.

Middleton has made seven appearances for Paul Heckingbottom’s side so far, helping them take a point off Celtic recently, as he looks to show he deserves a regular place in the first-team at Ibrox.

While it’s hard to read too much into something as insignificant as removing a handful of references from social media, if the player is unhappy in Leith then hopefully steps are taken to fix that quickly.

The Scotland under-21 international has a massive future ahead of him and could be a key player for Steven Gerrard’s side in the near future after an impressive debut campaign last term.

After hitting the net five times and contributing the same number of assists, Middleton impressed fans and pundits alike before falling down the pecking order over the summer.

Whatever ends up happening, Middleton needs to get regular games and if he isn’t going to get that at Rangers just now, he needs to be on loan somewhere.
