Rangers hero's shock return prompts reaction from these Gers fans

Rangers hero Nacho Novo has made a surprise return to playing with Biggleswade United in England – and Gers fans are keen to see the 41-year-old do well after three years in retirement.

Novo hung his boots up after a stint with Glentoran in 2017 but will take to the pitch once again with the Spartan South Midlands Football League.

The Spanish striker spent six years at Rangers between 2004 and 2010, winning three league titles, one Scottish Cup and two League Cups.

He also played for Raith Rovers and Dundee before moving to Ibrox and had spells at Sporting Gijon, Legia Warsaw, Huesca, Greenock Morton, Carlisle United and Carolina Railhawks before ending his career in Northern Ireland.

Novo could make his debut on Tuesday night against Woodbridge Town in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary round.

Gers fans on Twitter were quick to wish Novo luck – although one or two did seem a bit sceptical of his return.
