Rangers Colts take on Wrexham at Ibrox this afternoon and Graeme Murty’ side has caused some shock on Twitter with a handful of unexpected names involved.
Murty’s starting XI contained a few surprises with Jon Flanagan and George Edmundson both starting and Dapo Mebude and Eros Grezda missing from the squad completely for the historic clash.
The introduction of the two senior players will give some much-needed experience to a young Colts side but the absence of Mebude is one that the Gers will be a big blow.
The striker is thought to be injured but the club have yet to confirm the reason for his absence.

After beating Berwick Rangers, Stranraer, Ballymena United and Solihull Moors so far in the competition, a win over Wrexham would be another feather in their cap after an impressive campaign.

Grezda played a huge role in the win over Solihull, scoring twice and netting in the shootout but is nowhere to be seen as the Colts take to the Ibrox pitch – leaving fans questioning his absence.
