Rangers fans slaughter ex-Premier League star over crazy Bournemouth claim

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has been slaughtered by Rangers fans on Twitter after bizarrely claiming managing Bournemouth is a bigger job than being boss at Ibrox.

O’Hara was making the case for Gers boss Steven Gerrard to jump ship to the English minnows and the journeyman ex-pro quickly showed why he isn’t exactly front of the queue for top punditry gigs.

Now in charge of Conference South side Billericay Town, O’Hara seemed to genuinely believe what he was saying but as someone who has spent his entire life in the English football bubble, he probably also believes Arsenal v Spurs is one of the world’s most passionate derby games.

“I wouldn’t want to disrespect the Rangers people because they are a huge football club but it’s a bigger job to potentially be the Bournemouth manager,” O’Hara told TalkSport.

“Rangers are a huge, huge football club but for me there’s only two clubs in Scotland.

“With Bournemouth, they’ve just dropped out of the Premier League, to get them back into the Premier League, they are a higher profile football team.

“I would take the Bournemouth job, it’s a bigger job.”

If O’Hara wants an idea of just how different the two clubs are, there’s a guy at Ibrox he knows pretty well who recently left the south coast to head for Rangers permanently – Jermain Defoe.

Unsurprisingly, Rangers fans had plenty to say on O’Hara’s comments, and the Gers fans weren’t in a very forgiving mood.
