Rangers fans have sold out an official limited edition club single malt whisky of which only 360 bottles were produced within hours of it going on sale.

The 46% ABV special edition single malt, distilled Glenrothes Distillery, has been aged for 13 years and was quickly snapped up by excited Gers fans eager to own a special bottle for their collection.

This Glenrothes Single Cask Single Malt is said to carry an amalgam of “vanilla’d oak, brown sugar and gentle spice”.

Ibrox supporters on the MyGers membership package were notified by email of the special run of whiskies, which have been produced in partnership with Douglas Laing.

Supporters who missed out on this run of bottles need not be too disheartened with marketing director James Bisgrove confirming in the email to fans that there are more plans in the pipeline.

Bisgrove have struck up a range of Ibrox partnerships over the last few months and he confirmed that this will be the first of three limited-edition releases before Christmas.
